Academics

  • Shawsheen Valley Technical High School offers a dynamic and comprehensive academic program. Students will take academic classes in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Health/Physical Education. Students may add additional courses to meet requirements for college admission. With a variety of course offerings and academic levels, students can challenge themselves with college preparatory courses and/or topics of special interest in advanced Mathematics, Science (Chemistry, Physics) and more. Foreign Language Classes are also offered for students who require language coursework for college consideration.

    Shawsheen Tech students have also excelled on state-mandated MCAS testing - consistently earning scores that are highest among all other vocational-technical high schools and that are comparable to the scores of students enrolled in comprehensive high schools.

    In addition to state-of-the-art computer labs with high-speed Internet access, Shawsheen Tech's library features technical and general reading materials as well as a computer lab linking students to an unlimited research resources. Technically savvy and innovative instructors create lessons that include individual and cooperative learning, self-paced assignments, peer editing, virtual biology dissections and more.
