The Social Studies department at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School provides a meaningful educational experience through enriched curricula, differentiated learning activities, and passionate instructors dedicated to student success. The Social Studies department offers a broad selection of courses, including World Cultures, United States History I and II, Modern U.S. History, Civics, and Legal Issues, all of which reflect the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education academic frameworks. Running concurrently throughout the program, are social, political, and economic issues, requiring students to think critically and develop higher order thinking skills in preparation for their citizenship in a democratic society.
